Bhí Seachtain na Gaeilge iontach againn i Scoil an Teaghlaigh Naofa! We had a wonderful Irish week in Holy Family Senior School.
The children engaged in many different language and cultural activities. We had a comórtas ealaíne, where children illustrated their favourite seanfhocail. The entries were superb. The winners got delicious Easter egg prizes and their work will be on display on the Clár Gaeilge in school. Comhghairdeas!
Everybody made an extra effort to use their cúpla focal Gaeilge. We made a special effort to practise our frása an lae each day. Gaeilgeoirí na Seachtaine winners received certificates and Easter eggs for their efforts.
The week ended on a high with a special Seachtain na Gaeilge assembly. Class groups got to perform as Gaeilge and the winners of the different competitions were announced. After assembly, traditional music was piped through the yard and children had an opportunity to labhair Gaeilge and practice a few dance steps.
