3rd Class School Tour

Thu, Jun 29th, 2017

On June 13TH, 3RD class in Holy Family went on their school tour to Bens Surf School in Lahinch.
We left school at 09.15 in two different buses. The journey took approx 40 minutes. When we arrived, the first thing that happened was we got split into four groups. Group one went surfing, group two went body boarding, group three went rock-climbing, and group four went to do archery.
Surfing was so much fun. We got to wear wetsuits. We got big boards like real surfers. It was hard at first but it gets easier as you go on. It is very hard to get your position right.
Body boarding is a bit like surfing but much easier and you get a smaller board. It's just as fun and you don't need to stand up.
Rock-climbing was so exciting and scary. Everybody got attached to a harness so that if you fall the teacher would catch you. Archery is exciting but hard. The bow was real but the arrow wasn't, because that would be too dangerous. If you hit the yellow ring you get 5 points. If you hit the red you get 3 points, blue you get 2 points and if you hit the board you get 1 point. After having a few practice shots we got to play a game.

I really enjoyed my day in Lahinch and at Bens Surf School. It was so much fun. I loved my school tour this year.
