6th Class trip to Ennis Friary

Fri, Oct 5th, 2018

Ms Faherty's 6th class had a fun and educational trip to the friary recently. We learned all about the history of the friary, explored the building and heard some weird and wonderful facts. Ennis Friary was a Franciscan friary in the town of Ennis. It was established in the middle of the 13th century by the ruling O'Brien dynasty who supported it for most of its existence. Today, it remains in a ruined state but is open to the public. It is a National Monument of Ireland.
